Barbara E Chandler , AZ January 08, 2017 Ice maker no longer produced ice noticed a leak coming from icemaker a couple of weeks earlier Replaced entire ice maker. A couple of important points. (1) The ice maker module does not include all parts. The door flap for example is not included. So save all plastic parts from the old unit including screws. The biggest installation problem was the power cable. There was little room on the side of the ice maker for the cable and connectors to fit. Make sure the connector that mates with the refrigerator cable is seated onto the plastic housing and does not stick out or dangle out. If it sticks out, the cable connectors will be squeezed between the side of the ice maker where the cable comes out and the refrigerator wall. One other point. Insert the ice maker without an angle before connecting the power cables. It is not possible to pull the ice maker out enough to rotate the unit flat before sliding back into the refrigerator mounting rails. Finally, be careful handling the unit. There are several things done simultaneously and the unit might slip out of your hands while holding the ice maker and connecting the cables. If that happens, and the unit hits the floor, it will break because most of the unit is made from plastic. For example, the water bowl for dispensing into the ice maker tray is made of plastic and sticks out. It will easily break off if dropped. Richard W Ellicott City , MD December 30, 2019 Ice maker stopped working. Using the video on the website for a similar model, I was able to replace the icemaker easily. The repair was as simple as the video made it out to be, although as others have noted, it was a little difficult to separate the electrical connection, and I needed to use pliers to decouple the connector.
