Jay B Ballwin , MO September 29, 2015 Appliance: Model WFW0499SW01 Whirlpool wfw9400sw01 had defective fill valve [for the 2nd time in 7 years] and dispenser lever noted to have crack & replaced as well Old lever was gently pried off at each end while pinching retention axle clips. New unit snapped in place easily. Fill Valve was removed easily after removal of a single retention screw in the back. [and after turned OFF the Hot & Cold water supplies any removing hose attachment fittings from the two fill valve nipples]. The two electrical connectors [color coded] are then easily disconnected. The Fill Valve then is pushed to the side & up and then back into cabinet and gently lifted up and the connecting hose clip squeezed and moved off the Fill Valve nipple and the Fill Valve was removed. Installation was the reverse. The Dispenser Unit NOW, again, fills quickly; ALSO the softener & bleach areas get "bathed as well [again]. Read More...
