Description

This microwave magnetron is the high-voltage tube that creates the microwave energy used to heat and cook food. Replace it to restore heat when the unit runs but doesn't heat or makes an unusually loud electrical hum.

• Produces the microwave energy that cooks food inside the oven cavity
• Common failure sign: microwave runs but does not heat
• May be accompanied by a loud humming/buzzing or a burning odor near the magnetron area
• Note: Similar no-heat symptoms can also be caused by the high-voltage diode, capacitor, or transformer—diagnose before replacing
