Johnathon M Olympia , WA January 05, 2022 Appliance: KitchenAid Gas Range KGSK901SSS02 Kitchen Aid range. The bake and broil burners would not ignite. I purchased a new igniter for the bake assembly and found that it, unfortunately, did not resolve my problem. I measured the resistance of the different points on the gas valve and it was reading within spec so I then purchased this spark module and it did the trick. My gas range is a Kitchenaid kgsk901sss02. I had a LOT of trouble finding where the spark module is located, and eventually found a schematic that shows it's location behind the front control panel of the oven. Upon taking the front panel off, there is VERY LITTLE room to work inside. I decided to take the cook surface off to better access this area to swap the board, after doing so I found that this approach would require me to take off and reassemble gas lines which I was not comfortable doing. There's just over 2 inches of height to get in and unscrew the spark module from it's a mounting bracket to remove it and I, unfortunately, didn't have a low profile enough screw driver to be able to do this. I then gave up and called around to just have somebody who knew what they were doing solve it for me. After not being able to get somebody out and even having one place cancel on me and tell me to call somebody else I opened the panel back up and my wife suggested a screw driver with a 90 degree turn to it. We ended up using https://www.amazon.com/Red-4S04-Quarter-Stubby-Ratchet/dp/B00DSR50BQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_26?crid=RSAHT7TPA049&keywords=right%2Bangle%2Bscrewdriver%2Bezred&qid=1641442336&sprefix=right%2Bangle%2Bscrewdriver%2Bezr%2Caps%2C173&sr=8-26&th=1&psc=1 This tool let me get the board out with relative ease and I was able to swap it in only 30 minutes. This task was VERY simple and I hope that this makes it easier for somebody else that needs to swap a spark module on this model. Mark M Parlin , NJ March 26, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Range WFG371LVS3 My whirlpool gas range model#wfg371lvs3 igniters for oven and broiler stopped working I tried new igniters that did not work, tried control board, still not the problem so replaced spark module and that did it. it was thought that spark module only controlled range burners but learned on this model it also controls oven and broiler. it was also thought to be gas valve but that was eliminated when I told your tech. that the gas did come on and I was able to light oven or broiler with a match but once temp was achieved it would not ignite itself again so the spark module was replaced. the best part is you can return the items that were not the problem. Felix G Beach Park , IL March 07, 2016 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL STOVE Everything worked on stove except oven I know absolutely nothing about fixing appliances, nothing. So I googled and found this site and narrowed it down to 1 of three parts (totaling about $550). I tried the first two and with no luck I almost gave up thinking I didn't know what I was doing and better off buying a new stove. For the last part I had to dissemble more and thought I was getting over my head, guess what? The oven worked!!! The part I needed was only $150 and saved money on labor and who knows what what else. Just to come out they wanted to charge me $150. So I am very grateful for this site, my wife thinks I'm a do it all hero, and today I ship back the parts I didn't need. Paul D Miami , FL December 19, 2014 Appliance: Kenmore Gas Range 66572023102 Kenmore gas range bottom oven burner would not stay lit broiler and burners work Replaced spark module. I had a repairmen come out first, he assessed the problem as faulty spark module, but his repair estimate was very high. I started looking online and found Appliance Parts Pros. After reading from others with same issue and many times checking DIY, ordered the part. FYI, the repair video was not at all the part I had to replace, nut was greta assistance as how to access the panel. Placed order on Saturday night, had it at my door Tuesday evening. It was a direct replacement module. Took about 30 minutes but I tripled checked myself on everything! The part was almost $50 less than the repairman was going to charge, and I saved $175 for him not to install it, no doubt it would have been less than 15 minutes for him! Make sure and double check the compatibility of the part number you are ordering. There were several spark module shown on the page for my range. Great site and vendor, will go to again if need appliance parts! Read More... 11 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
