Andrew O San Rafael , CA January 05, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL SUPER CAPACITY 465 OVEN Bottom oven door trim was damaged I am plagiarizing some info from the techs.. 1. Turn off the electrical supply to the range. 2. Remove the oven door and position it on a protected floor or "truck tailgate".(here I googled, "removing oven door on super capacity 465" ...my model had clips at the hinge that I had to pop out)... lay down the handle and outer door glass facing up. 3. Raise the top of the door and remove the two screws that secure the top of the door trim and the handle to the door liner, then remove the handle and top trim. 4. Slide the outer door glass out of the bottom trim channel.(my model had 4 metal clips holding onto the glass. I discarded these since they are not used with the newly designed side pieces.)Place the side trim on the door now.The trim fits under the top door trim and pops into a hole on the side down towards the bottom. 5. Install the top trim/door handle on the oven door and secure them in place with their two mounting screws(do not tighten yet!). 6. NOW, slide the new glass into place on top of the new side trim. Make sure that the trim is seated properly and install bottom trim piece making sure that the button from the trim fits into the hole of the bottom trim piece.Tighten three screws on bottom trim piece into door frame. Now tighten top door handle/trim 6. Reinstall the oven door on the range. This is tricky. I used pliers to pull down hinges and stuck two little screws into the hinge. Slide door/hinge into oven, pull down slightly and remove holding screws that you had just placed in hinge. Chris W Atlanta , GA December 30, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Free Standing, Gas SF385PEEQ0 While cleaning the stove i dropped its door breaking the outer glass I replaced the glass and the oven door trim kit (which holds the outer glass in place). Once I figured out the alignment of the trim kit pieces, the repair went quickly. I unscrewed five screws, put the new glass and trim in place, then screwed the five screws back in. The hardest part was figuring out how to put the repaired door back on the stove (since the springs are in the door). After watching some youtube videos (that were not helpful) I decided to use two small screw drivers to hold the door hinges open -- but first I put blue painters tape on the inside corners of the door so I wouldn't scratch anything! Doug P Claremore , OK July 25, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Range RF378PXGQ0 Broken trim on oven door I ordered new trim pieces after breaking the old ones after disassembling the oven door. Watched the video on you tube on installing the trim. I wished that I had saw the video first. Wouldn't have broken the trim in the first place. Installation was fast, and easy. Looks great. Shipping was fast!!! I ordered on Sunday, and received new parts on Tuesday.
