Eric W West Concord , MN March 17, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MSD2456DEQ Frig not cooling could hear repetitive clicking and sizzling sound Ordered replacement kit from AppliancePartsPros. New part that was recommended did not look like the original (frig is a Maytag and new part comes in a Whirlpool bag). Chat support assured me it will work. Got it, and put it in per instruction, which was against my better judgement, as the top two wire colors were reversed on the instruction sheet, from what I had taken off. Sure enough, compressor wouldn't start and would stall and kick out the new overload. Reversed top two wires back to the way it was as-assembled, and it started fine/ran smooth. Take pictures and/or write down wire positions/colors prior to taking anything apart for repair. Oh, and yes, even though the new kit didn't look anything like the original PTC/overload, it went on just fine. The cover didn't fit, but then, it didn't have one to begin with. I would presume this kit covers numerous refrigerator applications.
