Dean H Rochester , MN April 08, 2014 Bad Panel Dishwasher would not start. Only some of the panel lights would work. Before it quit working the LED display that shows how long until the wash was completed started to go out too. 15 minute job to remove the screws to get to the panel and replace it. There are videos on youtube to help you. Simple ribbon cable connection. Fixed my problem. Save $100 service call. Michael M Ann Arbor , MI October 03, 2015 Control panel cosmetically damaged latch wearing out First turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box. You will be handling electrical parts. Easy to remove inside panel (torx, not phillips or slotted heads), did not have to disconnect wiring between inside panel & control unit except ribbon connector. Latch also unscrewed w/1/4" socket head. Had to unscrew inside control box to insert new connector ribbon. The connector on the circuit board has a slide-open crimp mechanism, so it will pull out, but need to slide the outer portion of the connector "forward" to open it, insert ribbon, and slide shut. The latch mechanism wore out along the two hinge pins, where the plastic portion of the hinge degraded over time. It just has two screws then unsnaps from inside the panel, and has two plug connectors. Remarkable difference when replaced with new mechanism. Keep track of all your screws (2 types, remember), screw it all back together in reverse order. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Socket Set
