Description

This small internal lever fits the washer's transmission spin gear. It engages the gear so the basket can spin as designed. Replacing a worn pawl can restore consistent spin performance and help reduce ratcheting noises from the gearcase. What it does:

• Engages the transmission's spin gear to transmit power to the basket during the spin cycle
• Provides one-way locking to prevent the spin gear from slipping under load
• Common symptoms of failure: basket won't spin or spins intermittently; loud clicking/ratcheting from the gearcase; delayed or harsh engagement into spin

Install notes:

• Unplug the washer and turn off water supply; wear gloves and eye protection
• Located inside the gearcase; the gearcase must be removed and opened to access the pawl
• Expect residual oil inside the gearcase—use a catch pan and reseal per service procedures
• Photograph the gear stack and parts orientation during disassembly to aid reassembly
