Jill P Robbinsville Township , NJ November 14, 2020 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 Drawer wouldn't shut due to both side plates broken Both side plates needed to be replaced. This job was involved. Everyone kept saying it was just 3 screws. Well it was a lot more than that. All the bottom part of the refrigerator needed to be removed. Crisper drawers, glass, temperature sensor part, etc. Couldn't find a youtube video to help. Found one (how to replace an actuator) that walked you through taking all the parts out of the frig. It helped mostly. You need to take the 2 end caps off of the plates with a flathead screwdriver. It seems like you are going to break it but they pop off. Then you are able to locate the couple of screws and remove the plates. There are also wires inside of the plates that you need to remove and put in the new plate. And remember to put the styrofoam back in the plate. Putting the tracks in and everything else back was not so bad. So in summary, this was not as simple as replacing a couple of screws !! Hope this helps. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
