Allen A New Milford , PA February 25, 2024 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW6200VW0 Bad tub seal wiped out bearings. A buddy of mine gave me a washer and said if you can fix it you can have it, It doesn't spin. I tried running a spin cycle and found that it did try to spin but was very noisy. I disassembled the washing machine and found that the tub seal had gone out and took out the bearings with it so I ordered a new tub and seal kit and while I waited for that I proceeded to disassemble the rest of the washing machine and clean everything so when the new parts arrived it was ready and waiting. Bearing install probably took maybe 10 minutes at most and within a half an hour 45 minutes washing machine was back together and ready to go. It's been 2 weeks now and everything seems good ?? overall probably took me a couple hours to do the whole thing from start to finish. By the way this is the first time I've ever tackled something like this so it is very easy to do for anybody that's remotely mechanically inclined. NOTE, bearing install tool is required to install the bearings square with the shaft, otherwise you WILL have premature bearing failure. Read More...
