Whirlpool WP488729 Screw OEM Part

This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one.

The video was great and I changed the four rollers, pulley and belt in about an hour. I think it took longer to give the dryer a good cleaning than the repair took. After I replaced the rollers I still had some noise from the dryer and discovered the blower wheel was worn out and wobbled on the shaft. Another video and another repair. It was a little difficult since the blower wheel would not unscrew with the 1/2 inch ratchet since it spun freely on the shaft. The advice about breaking the wheel off worked great and now the dryer works like it did when it was new 12 years ago.

1. I went online to find the parts. Found them at appliance parts pros very quickly and easily. The website displayed the internal workings of the dryer, all parts, what goes where, etc. Then I viewed the installation videos that were provided. Very helpful. I then ordered the parts I needed. Delivered within 5 calendar days. Checked on-line video again for installation tips. Removed the broken parts and installed the new ones. Easy. Quick. Very satisfying. Job well done if I say so myself.
