Karan O Fergus Falls , MN October 22, 2017 Appliance: Estate Range TES325KQ0 The side trim broke and screws fell out of door handle. First I looked up the part, couldn't find the model number at first, even looking at the diagram provided by this site. Did a "Live Chat", through this I was able to find the model number, the person helping me also looked up the parts for that model, after the chat I went and put in the model number and it gave different parts numbers than I had received from the "Live Chat", that's ok, I looked purposely to make sure. I ordered the parts, they were here in about 3 days, I ordered the "Oven door trim kit and door handle screws. Then I went and watched the video on how to remove the oven door and put the replacement parts on, supposedly there was a latch to pull forward, then lift the door out, no latches on this door, couldn't pull off the door as described. Decided to only replace the side trim that had broken, still had to take the oven handle off, remove the glass.....got the pieces all back together, problem....the screws sent to me were too small, just slip into the openings and just kept turning, ok, now I'm a bit frustrated, but...found some screws that were the right size around, but a bit to long, used them, I guess I will need to see if I can figure out a way to have about a 1/16th of the screw sawed off? There is my experience. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Gordon H Lake Wales , FL March 03, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Free Standing Electric Range GR440LXMP0 Oven door handle broke where screw attaches also from previous work i desired to replace the glass support at the bottom of the door The parts arrived in short time. Had to go to YouTube to learn how to get the door off. My range is about 2004 model. The YouTube video I found did not represent my installation but gave me enough information to remove the clip so the hinge could come free. Installing the handle was difficult to impossible to get the attaching screw in. I finally had to drill out the screw receptacle a bit to where I could get the screw in. I was afraid I would break the plastic the screw goes into. Finally with my wife holding the door and all the strength I could muster on the screw driver I was able to get them in. Then came putting the hinge back into the range. No place was told to insert a nail or something into the hinge part that was attached to the door. After studying the installation I did anchor the hinge opened and slip the door into place, install the hinge keepers, and the job was finished. Saved purchasing another range. My wife was not happy.
