Mark A Niantic , CT May 25, 2016 Our gas (propane) oven temperature was off by about 50 deg This oven came with a home we bought 1 year ago. We were advised by an appliance tech there was no temp. adjustment for this and we'd be better off buying a new oven. What he didn't know was, although this oven was 15 years old, the original owners had only used this home about 2 weeks a year and had never cooked anything in the oven. Also, there is a way to increase the temp electronically up or down to a max of 30 deg. In checking appliance parts pro's website all pointed to a faulty temp sensor inside the oven. The repair was easy, 4 screws from the back of the oven to expose the wiring connector and then 2 screws inside the oven to remove and replace the temp sensor. Worked like a charm, tested with 2 metal pots filled with water in the oven. In 12-17 min with oven set at 350 deg - manual temp gauge read at 340 deg - after 22 minutes the manual gauge read exactly 350 deg. Please note that I had reset the electronic temp adjustment back to 0 deg Plus or Minus prior to testing the oven temp with the new sensor installed. Best 2nd test was my wife baking brownies exactly as the box instructions indicated for time and temp. and they came out perfect! We finally have our 15 year, new Amana oven working perfectly for $60.00 and 15 minutes of my repair time. Thanks AppliancePartsPros.com! Chris D Morris Plains , NJ June 05, 2015 Oven temp sensor needed to be replaced Tried an online recommendation to remove sensor first without pulling oven out. Matched part. But female part of sensor did not come through into oven belly. Part arrived very fast. Pulled oven out. Replaced sensor without removing back of my amana oven. Tada it worked. Success. Read More...
