Rory D Fairfield , CA May 18, 2020 Appliance: Model KITCHENAID KUDE60HXSS0 Our dishwasher would not start. A bit of searching on the internet narrowed the problem down to either the heating element or the control board. As I am not much of a diagnostician I decided to replace both. Along this same line, I would never have attempted these repairs if it hadn't been for the clear, easy to understand repair videos provided for each part. Further, my decision to do my own repairs was made easier because the prices of the parts was so reasonable. I took my time, reviewed the videos and replaced the heating element, the control board and the soap dispenser all in just a bit over an hour. There were no special tools needed and no special skills. The dishwasher is a bit large so you might want someone to help you if you need to lay it on its side. I figure i saved a little over $400.00 by not just buying a replacement dishwasher. Marty S Carthage , MO May 29, 2020 Appliance: Model GU2300XTV53 My dishwasher stopped mid cycle and flashed different codes, after reset the dishes were wet I took a chance and replaced the heating coil. It solved the problem, though it seemed like a bit of a gamble. Since there was no definitive code to know for sure that the heating element would shut the machine off at different cycle times and since the code showing was inconsistent, it could have been a control board. If that were the case it would have probably made more sense to buy a new dishwasher since this one is about 10 years old. The most effort in replacing the part was the removal of the hard-wiring of the electrical supply to the dishwasher. I'm not sure why there was no plug-in provided instead of a hard-wire into a common junction box since my house had new wiring when it was remodeled but it that's where most of my two hours was spent. If not for that, the replacement would have taken no more than maybe 45 minutes. BTW, you won't need new washers, they are included with the element. Just get new nuts. Read More... Larry F Palm , PA December 02, 2024 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher WDF730PAYB3 Leaking water from underneath so fast it was like the water supply hose broke i used it late one night with no problem the mid afternoon i ran it again to clean from baking I am 75 years old. I had to pull dishwasher out from counter, as large style tub is so close to floor. After removing the lower cover, could see water pouring out but not from where. I flipped dishwasher on front and saw that motor to sump hose was chewed through. (we have moles that come inside). Got on-line, looked up diagrams, found parts needed plus new heater. Parts were delivered next day, replaced parts gotten same night as delivered. I tested dishwasher while not under counter. no leaks. put back in and used next day. Read More...
