Scott H West Hills , CA November 07, 2021 Appliance: Model SXD25JPW Broke door closure cams. A broken cam can be bad news. The door can swing open from its own weight. I ordered a door closure kit (cams) plus shims. My fridge needs a stack of shims on the fridge door to align it vertically. The old shims had broken and pieces fell out. The lack of support may have caused the cams to fail since they sit on the shims. I used the new shim as a pattern to fabricate a single aluminum shim for more strength. The head of the screw anchoring the lower cam was torn up. Fortunately, it was an 8x32 machine screw. I had everything ready nearby since I didn't want to have the door off the fridge for too long. The aluminum shim plus the new cams aligned the door. My 31-year-old Raytheon Amana is loving life again. Gary M Sandown , NH November 08, 2020 Over the last few months I noticed my refrigerator door not closing completely. I would have to push it, to get it closed completely. After reviewing a couple of YouTube videos on the subject I ordered replacement door closers for my refrigerator. These are some plastic pieces with ridges slopes to them that caused the door to close on its own. It took me maybe 1/2 hr to remove the door and replace the parts,and now the door closes perfectly.
