Walter G Sugar Hill , GA April 05, 2020 Appliance: KitchenAid Electric Dryer KEYS850JQ0 Clothes took too long to dry. Dryer Thermal Cut-Off Kit. There were two things different on my older Kitchen Aid dryer. One, the connector on the heating element was different from the one shown in the video. It came with an extra terminal. However, it actually turned out to be easier since I didn't have to cut, strip and crimp either of the wires. The orange wire in the video was red and I never had to take it off the heating element. The jumper that came in the kit worked as is and simply jumped from the bottom of the replacement high limit thermostat to the third terminal on the heating element. Two, the original A-H switch was mounted using a bracket attached to the switch using two screws. However, even though the new switch didn't have the bracket, it still attached by inserting at a 45 degree angle and then rotating until an attached plastic arm clicked into an existing square hole out to the side. I took some pictures but don't see anyplace I can post them. At any rate, all is well now and the drying is back functioning normally! Read More...
