Description

This compressor overload switch helps protect the compressor by interrupting power if the motor overheats or draws excessive current. It replaces a failed thermal overload to help restore normal compressor starting and operation. What it does:

• Acts as a thermal protector that opens the circuit when the compressor overheats or is overloaded
• Prevents compressor damage by cutting power during abnormal current draw or excessive temperature
• Commonly replaced when a refrigerator or freezer won't start or the compressor runs intermittently
• Works with the start device to allow proper compressor starting and cycling
