Description

This thermistor is the refrigerator/freezer temperature sensor that reads internal air temperature and sends that signal to the control board so the appliance maintains correct cooling. Replaces a failed sensor to restore accurate temperature control. What it does:
  • Senses cabinet or evaporator temperature and relays the reading to the control board
  • Helps the control system cycle the compressor, fans, and defrost as needed
  • Commonly fails when the fridge runs too long, runs constantly, or shows incorrect temperatures
  • Can cause improper cooling or defrost control when damaged or disconnected

  • One thermistor temperature sensor
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before accessing components
  • Handle the sensor and wiring gently; avoid pulling on wires or kinking the probe
  • Reinstall in the same location and routing as the original to ensure accurate readings
