Description

This defrost thermostat helps control the refrigerator's defrost heater so ice buildup is cleared and the appliance maintains efficient cooling. Replaces a worn or failed defrost thermostat to restore proper defrost cycles. What it does:

• Senses evaporator temperature and opens/closes the defrost circuit to let the heater run only when needed
• Stops the defrost heater once the evaporator reaches the target temperature
• Commonly used when frost builds on the evaporator or when the freezer is not cooling evenly
• Helps prevent excessive ice buildup that can block airflow and reduce efficiency
