Billy I Payson , AZ June 29, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE7657AYQ Maytag dryer overheating First, I checked your web site to pinpoint the problem. It seems like either thermostat or heating element shortage. But since my wife said overheating started with regular cycle, then other cycle started over heating, so I guessed that thermostat is the culprit. Then I looked at video and learned hoe easy it is to replace it, so I decided to do it myself. What the video didn't show is how difficult it is once you take out the door - there is very little room inside of dryer! I drooped screws and socket many times before finally got the thermostat out. But since video shows very clearly where the thermostat & screws are, I know what to do. It just take patience! Thank you for this great advice, now it is working like new!! Chris P Victor , NY August 15, 2015 Appliance: Model LDE 612 MAYTAG DRYER Our 35 year old maytag dryer stopped heating I ordered all the parts necessary to replace the heating element and thermostat on a Sunday night. Appliance Parts Pros shipped on Monday AM and I received them on Wednesday. It took me 45 minutes to disassemble the dryer, replace the parts and have the dryer working again. It should be good for another 35 years which should cover me for my needs. Thanks again to Appliance Parts Pros for having the best service and always the correct parts. I am a huge fan of your company as you never disappoint me with poor service or incorrect parts. Christopher B Fort Lupton , CO November 13, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG NEPTUNE DRYER Overheating while drying clothes Initially I cleared out the dryer vent but that didn't solve the problem. I searched online about the issue and found that the heating game elements often expand and come in contact with the frame of the enclosure which shorts the heating element and causes overheating. Inspecting the heating element revealed this was exactly the problem. I removed he heating element and its enclosure. I decided to replace the fuse and the high limit switch because they were inexpensive and may fail soon if not already.
