Description
This mechanical rotary defrost timer controls and advances the refrigerator's defrost cycle so the evaporator periodically melts frost buildup, helping restore normal cooling. It replaces a worn or stuck timer to return automatic defrost operation. What it does
- Advances the fridge's defrost cycle on a set schedule so the evaporator heats and melts frost
- Stops the compressor during defrost so frost is removed without cooling loss
- Common symptom: excessive frost buildup on evaporator or freezer compartment

Install notes
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
- Locate timer (control panel, kick plate, or rear panel depending on model) and note original orientation before removal
