Stephen S Flagstaff , AZ July 11, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG - MSD2142ARW The refrigerator section was not staying cold as before and the noise was louder than normal At first, I suspected the evaporator fan motor was going bad, but when I went in to check it out, I found the evaporator coils totally frozen up; the fan was cavitating. I defrosted the coils completely and checked everything out. By process of elimination the Defrost timer had to be the culprit. I unplugged the timer and sure enough, the motor winding was open. Replacing the defrost timer fixed my problem. Troubleshooting (using the information available on your web site) took a little under an hour; replacing the part took less than 15 minutes start to finish. Unloading the freezer, and de-icing the coils for troubleshooting was the longest process. Part delivery was fast... 2 days. So, using our deep freeze and a cooler, the evolution was fairly painless. David L Waleska , GA April 12, 2017 Appliance: Crosley Refrigerator CS21A5DW Frig not coming out of defrost and running to cold then to warm Had a two fold problem. The temperature started to have a mind of it's own getting colder and running more than usual. Then it seemed to stay in the defrost cycle longer. Manually turning the Timer- Defrost Control helped at first but then gave out, as it would electrically time but not click out of the defrost mode. Age caught up with it, replacement part brought it back to proper function. The Temp Controller used to work perfectly on a setting of 3.5 and then had to increase setting until it worked fine. A few days later everything would be frozen. Adjust temp down things would work fine for a week or two. Not a symptom of a capillary tube design. Removed the temp controller an on the plastic housing right below was black carbon a clear indicator of break down of the rheostat again due to age. Replacement Temp Controller works great now on 4.5 setting, freezer is at Zero, frig at 38, cycling is back to normal. Have to say the Help Section of Appliancepartspros is very beneficial, their return policy gives a great piece of mind, their speed of filling orders helps getting broken appliances back up and running. Thanks Guys - for the frig, washer and dryer parts I've purchase from you over the years.
