John & Trish L Los Angeles , CA July 31, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer SAV205DAWW Our maytag washer kept on going into an "automatic" double rinse cycle We "eliminated" the problem by purchasing a "new timer" and "by-passing" the switch on our washer that was "specifically" for an extra rinse IF you desired. I had a suspicion that this switch; although in the "OFF" position, no longer worked and was in the "open" position all of the time. I tried to buy a "new" switch, but it's not available ANYWHERE; not even from Maytag. I have a feeling that the "new" switch "eliminated" the need for this switch and incorporated it into the new tiomer. I may be wrong, but our washer works "great" now. It's over ten years young!!! Thanks. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
