Description

The washer timer sequences power to the motor, pump, and valves to advance each stage of the cycle. Replacing a failed timer can resolve issues with cycles not starting or advancing and restore consistent operation. What it does:

• Controls the sequence and duration of wash, rinse, drain, and spin by switching power to each component
• Advances the cycle at set intervals and stops the machine at the end of the program
• Common symptoms of failure: cycle won't advance or stops mid-cycle
• Also presents as the washer not starting or starting intermittently, or skipping/repeating steps

Install notes:

• Unplug the washer before servicing to avoid electrical shock
• Access the control console; remove the selector knob and dial and detach the old timer
• Note wire locations and transfer connectors one at a time to the new timer; secure with the original screws/clips
• Reassemble the console, align the knob on the timer shaft, and test a short cycle
