Maury F West Bloomfield , MI March 23, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL DOUBLE STACK DRYERS Double stack dryers one stopped working several months ago and recently the other one started making a lot of noise and the timer would not shut the unit off after contacting numerous local repair Deciding I had nothing to lose I decided to tear them apart. After locating the ApplianceParts Pros.com web site I watched videos on the most common problems and took a step by step approach to troubleshooting each of the units. The top one required a fan, shroud cleanup of the guide rollers and other maintenance. The lower unit needed a new motor, timer and clean up of the guide rollers. With the help of your videos and a few hundred dollars worth of parts I now have both units cleaned up and functioning as new! My suggestions to anyone reading this review: 1.Take some time to watch the videos first! The suggested most likely problems were spot on! 2.Take photos of everything as you dissemble the machine. 3.Bag and label the screws as you remove them. 4.Don’t be afraid to do this yourself with the help of the AppliancePartsPros.com web site. Thank you for a wonderful resource! Maury, West Bloomfield, Michigan Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
