David G Independence , MO December 10, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer MAV4755AWW Left lid hinge pin was broken and top was rusted out under left hinge Hoped the wiring would have more connectors allowing wires to be disconnected easily in order to replace top, however that was not the case and it required marking a couple dozen wires in order to get them put back on the proper terminals. Other than that the repair was fairly simple. Repair problably took longer than it should have but I took it slow in order to prevent mistakes. Read More... HAD NO HELP.PULLED WASHER FORWARD,PROPED IT UP.1 REMOVED CONSOLE BACK.2 DISCONNECT WIRES AND HOSE.( YOU MIGHT WANT TO MARK WIRES) 3 REMOVE CONSOLE.4 REMOVE TOP HINGES (HANG ON TO THEM IF THEY DROP YOU MY HAVE FUN GETTING THEM OUT. WHILE YOUR IN THERE ,CHECK YOUR HOSES.AND CHECK YOUR LEVELERS FOR RUST,WD40 WILL LOOSEN THEM UP. TOOK ABOUT A HOUR AND HALF WITHOUT HELP. (LID HINDGES INSTALATION PIECE OF CAKE) 10 MIN. Read More...
