David S Hartwell , GA June 19, 2023 Appliance: KitchenAid Built - In Electric Oven KEBS207DBT7 Double oven would not work correctly/runaway high temp cycle (control board problem) also oven lights would not come on. Studied schematics and watched many on-line videos. Did some electrical checks with VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter). Determined that control panel thermal fuse attached to back of control panel had opened due to high temp. Determined that the upper oven thermal fuse on back of oven had opened due to high temp. Determined that transformer that supplies power to lights was bad (open primary). Removed control panel circuit board and had it repaired/verified good. Faulty control panel was the reason that oven went into thermal runaway. Replaced control panel thermal fuse. Replaced upper oven thermal fuse. Replaced light circuit transformer. Installed the repaired control panel board. Re-assembled everything turned on the power, and voilà, everything worked. Happy wife - happy life. Read More...
