Phillip G Port Orange , FL March 21, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Washer MHWE300VF00 Rear main tub bearings of my front loader blew out. My appliance repair shop quoted $750 parts and labor to fix the machine and noted usually when the main bearing go out in front loaders they are not worth fixing due to the number of hours involved. $950 for a new frontloader. I was able to order the part here at $222 including shipping (you have to order the whole backend of the outer tub which has the bearing inside. This was indeed not a job for anybody that is not good at taking things apart and remembering how to put them back together again sometimes days later. Part came quick in 3 days. To get the tub out you have to remove the rear, top and complete front of the loader, then remove all the parts (cement weights, motor, sensor wires, water and soao intakes and outakes). I took about 5 hours to first time carefully (although 2 hrs to put back together). Hardest part was seperating the outer drum from the inner basket and replacing the metal clips that hold the outer tub together. Very involved but worth it.
