Joseph K Mccordsville , IN June 05, 2015 Failed main bearing on maytag bravo washer The bearing is molded into the outer tub. Th process is not complicated but does take about two hours. The most difficult part of the process was filing information on opening the top of the washer. Some information says to use a putty knife an push in to release the catch but on the version we have you need to unbolt two sheetmetal screws in the back, pull forward on the top and lift up. You only need to remove the top two screws in the back. When putting the top back on make sure you have the top pulled forward when you close the top down and slide the top back. This should move very easy. If it does not close easily do not force it as you can bend the latching tabs. No special tools are required to do this job. Take pictures and tag your wiring harnesses.
