Timothy W Parma , OH November 26, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MDG6700AWW Dryer not heating 02 error code the error codes i have did not have 02 i though this was how many cycles ago the error occured This dryer is 9 years old. The dryer heated intermittently, the igniter, flame sensor and all temperature snap switches checked good, continuity. I replaced the gas valve coils and then the gas valve but the problem remained. The problem was the thermistor. A good thermistor reads about 10 ohms, at 70 degrees, with a multimeter, my thermistor read open. With a good thermistor the dryer heats like new. The new gas valve and coils will stay installed because of the heavy use this dryer has seen the past 9 years.
