Description

Designed for use in dryers, the gas valve assembly is a part with solenoids or coils. These are used to close and open the valve that controls how much gas flows through the internal parts of the dryer. The gas valve assembly is made of strong materials but can become damaged or worn out. When this occurs, the dryer may not longer create heat during a cycle. If this happens, test the coils using a multimeter. If the reading is not within 1,000 to 2,000 ohms, the gas valve assembly should be replaced.Before starting, unplug the dryer from the wall and shut off the gas supply. Remove the lint screen from the housing and use a screwdriver to take out the screws in the housing. Disassemble the dryer to gain access to the gas valve and coils. Remove the screws from the mounting bracket to detach this part.
