John G Porter Ranch , CA February 24, 2017 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL DUET, 2010 MODEL Leaking inlet valve on seven year oly whirlpool duet front load washer causing water to pool under the machine Saw the drip, ordered the part. Unplugged machine from wall. Torx bit on my DeWalt cordless drill to remove the screws securing the lid to the machine, lifted off top cover. Turned off water supply and removed the water supply hoses from back of the machine, used needle-nosed pliers to remove spring clamps from the defective part, removed mounting screw for defective part at rear of machine. Worked the defective part out of mounting, unplugged the three electrical connectors. Then, plugged in connectors, remounted the small hoses and secured the spring clamps, remounted the new part to the machine, reattached the water supply hoses, turned on the water (checked for leaks). Plugged in power cord. Ran a load to make sure everything worked. No leaks and no problems, so put the top back on the machine and used drill to tighten the torx screws. Actual work time 15 minutes, but the wash load took 55 additional minutes. Problem solved.
