William S Annapolis , MD March 27, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDS25SHBL1 14 year old kitchenaid dishwasher wasn't filling with water (only partially) had to add water during cycles Ordered new inlet water valve and float switch kit. After repairs it now works fine. However the water inlet valve outlet end for fill hose (not water source) and wire connections (supposedly for this unit) were oriented 180 degrees opposite. I had to gently remove the blue plastic valve off the metal support bracket and turn it around and press back in place. Fortunately it appears it was designed for either orientation. Also the solenoid had to be unclipped and also rotated. Again it was designed to have either orientation. Many DIY'ers may have returned the part not knowing what to do. I had the benefit of being an engineering officer on merchants ships and figured out I could modify the valve. My 5-star rating is a self-pat on the back for making it work. Mark Y Pittsburgh , PA February 01, 2015 The inlet valve on my kenmore dishwasher was cracked I went to Sears to see if they had replacement parts. They said I'd have to order it. They said it would be 80 bucks. Since I got the part number from Sears I went online to see if I can find a cheaper alternative. I found Appliance Parts Pro.com and they have the part for half of what Sears had it. I installed it myself and now the dishwasher is working again. All is happy. It failed not due to a poor product but due to freezing pipes. The piece is an exact match and easy to install. The shipping is fast, i'm very pleased with my purchase.
