Dwane K Normandy , TN February 22, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher JDB2150AWP0 The dishwasher would not fill with water Well, it goes like this. I watched a number of "YouTube" videos and decided that I needed a new "Fill Valve". I called AppliancePartsPros, ordered the new valve. It arrived on the 3rd day (we had a major ice storm so things were slowed down all over the state), and since I was stuck in the house anyway I figured this would be a good time to tackle this project. If you've never worked on a dishwasher, its an experience. Not because its hard work, rather, it just so damn tight!! It took me 40 minutes or so to complete the install of the new fill valve only because I couldn't get to one little screw on the back side. So, after all is done, I decide its time to check things. NOTHING!! It still doesn't fill with water. Starting to get ticked off now. Could I have gotten a bad part? Rather than take it all apart again, I decide to "fiddle" with things and see what happens. Should have done this in the first place. I check the micro switch that is attached to the float valve. It seems to work but something just doesn't seem right. I open the door to check the float valve. Now I REALLY TICKED OFF!!! A clear plastic straw was lodged under the float valve preventing it from allowing the micro switch to activate the fill valve!! All that needed to be done was remove the straw and everything worked perfectly. Lesson learned......check everything before buying a new part. At least I have a fill valve in case the new one actually goes out. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
