Luis T Grant , AL June 28, 2016 Appliance: Maytag 30" Gas Built-In Downdraft Cooktop JGD8345ADB21 Frozen gas valves This was my first time working on any stove or stove top....the hard part was getting to the gas valves for each burner...found videos online which gave some idea of replacing them...just used common sense in which screws to remove to take the top and subpanels off.....had to go and purchase the correct socket size to remove the tiny screws....using an adjustable wrench was clunky....vice grips helped some......once I was able to remove one gas valve it was clear on removing the spark igniter......just slide it off carefully....the trick was getting the valve put back in with the correct orientation so that the tubes line up correctly...again all common sense...the other trick was installing the sqaure wafer like igniter assembly back on with the correct orientation for the red and black wires to reconnect correctly.....also snapping them into place.....for simplicity I did not put the main top back on and placed the unit back in the slot of my precut counter top....this way I could easily get to the tube joints with soapy bubble water for gas leak testing.....after verifying there was no leak after turning the gas back on (of course after all was tightened), I plugged the unit into the AC outlet and tested that each burner lit correctly.....was this was done I unplugged the unit and then reassembled the top back on the main base and put it all back together and retested......topped off the work with a cold one and grilling some ham and grilled cheese sandwiches.....all good....
