Whirlpool W10585391 Water Inlet Valve OEM Part

There are plenty of DIY youtube videos to show you how to replace the parts. I went ahead and replaced more than just the broken parts. I figured if I had the machine opened up, I might as well replace parts that could go out in the future. I might have gone a bit too far with all the other parts. The only part that was really broken was the wiring harness. Two of the wires had corroded from the sockets and there was no other way than to replace the entire harness. Its a bit tricky to feed the harness through the back of the machine. You just need to slowly feed it through. The rest of the parts are plug and play.

I replaced the water inlet valve and the new hose supplied in the kit. Very simple to replace the valve. Threading the new hose was also pretty simple. The ice machine works like new and it's about half as loud with the new parts. Since I had it all apart, I went ahead and added a filter which the builder should have done.

Replaced the supply valve,

Replaced the water valve which (most importantly) includes all the logic boards for cycling.

Replaced water valve ordered from Appliance Parts Pro. The pictures of the part available on line were very helpful. After reading the reviews others had previously submitted I found instructions on how to disconnect the plastic water lines from the old valve and how to reconnect the lines to the new valve which turned out to be very helpful as the connections are not made with compression nuts.
