Whirlpool W10821146 Surface Burner Valve (Gas) OEM Part

Replaced the solenoid controlled water valve.

Used as web search for the problem and then visited AppliancePartsPros.com web site. Entered my Maytag Atlantis model and serial number. Review of customer comments confirmed the solution would be replacement of the water inlet valve. There were 2 valves available so I had an instant chat with the ApplicantPartsPros rep. She indicated which one was correct based on my serial number and also entered the order for me. I received the part in 2 days. The on-line video showed the exact steps to follow for replacement. I replaced the fill valve assembly with a new one. Had to look carefully at the parts diagrams to make sure I ordered the right one since the serial number break old vs. new didn't seem to match the number on my machine. On this particular machine you don't need to pull it out too far from the wall-leave the hoses connected to the valve, remove the screw holding the valve bracket, and pull into the washing machine where you can easily access the hose ends. A putty knife is needed to open the top of the cabinet to access this valve. I had to do a little searching to find the right way to do it. The technique is to slide the putty knife in between the cabinet top and cabinet front and push the clip back while lifting the top slightly then repeat on other side while maintaining upward lift. Easy as pie once you know the trick. The 15-30 minutes rating I gave is the time it took to do the valve replacement once I had figured out the trick, and included getting the tools out. But total time invested including searching for how to open the cabinet was closer to two hours. I could probably do it in 10 minutes now, but that's how these things go. But I also spent 1/2 hour waiting to see if the drip reappeared, though I did other things during that time. Problem is fixed, I'm happy and so is my wife. I ordered new cabinet top clips to make sure the top would latch down securely and not rattle.

I went on line, submitted all my appliance Info, and watched a tutorial that told me exactly how to fix the problem. I ordered the after the 4p.m EST deadline but still had the new part in 24 hours. This is not the first time that I have used your company for a repair part. The service is excellent and the tutorials are awesome. I first switched the fill valve connections and tested the operation with no change to my washer condition. I ordered the replacement valve, I installed it and the problem was corrected.
