Ngoc N Naples , FL June 06, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator WRF990SLAM00 Freezer stop working ice melt and drip on floor fresh food in cooler is ok Remove R134a with sadle tapper valve and a gauge, Carefully heat and remove 3 tubes connect to valve after ID them. Install new valve in reverse, remove coil before applying heat to solder them back. Evacuate system, test for leak, Vacuum again then put in 5.6 oz of new R-134a by electronic scale. Plug in and watch the pressure going to 0 and sometime negative. Wait for a couple hous and voila, it start to make ice, check temperature in freezer 3 hrs later it had gone down to -3F degree. The wife was happy and want to go grocery because all frozen stuffs were wasted.
