Removed bolt cap with small screwdriver to access 5/16” x 1-1/4” long 7/16” diameter head hex bolt. Lifted plate out and dropped in new plate, then reversed procedure. About 5 minute repair. James and Janet C Mickleton , NJ March 19, 2024 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW8040DW3 Started with needing to take off wash plate to look for lost ring but the screw to the washplate was adhered with blue locktite. Because the screw to the wash plate would not come off, and in the interim, damaged the gear case, we ordered the wash plate, screw, gear case, nut and nut spanner tool to be ready for the repairmen to come and remove the tub to look for the ring. The repairmen were very impressed that I had all of the items needed to replace after the tub was pulled out. They found the ring, put everything back together again and the washing machine works great. I asked a lot of questions to your pros and they instantly responded to my needs.
