Andrew K Santa Clara , CA April 16, 2014 Appliance: Model MED4000BW0 Changed the dryer vent location from the rear to the right side Used the Wpl. Vent Kit, 4-way. This is not a quick, easy job. You have to disassemble the dryer, removing the entire front, door, drum, and control panel. Take your time and take pictures as you go so you can get it all back together again after installing the conversion kit. It will take you at least an hour, and you need room to work. Also, remember that after converting the dryer over to left or right vent, you now have a wider dryer with the ducting sticking out the side. (4") Make sure it will fit in the door! Ronald G Battle Creek , MI September 26, 2019 Needed to convert rear venting electric dryer to side venting The kit provided everything needed. The most important item in the kit are the directions, as you have to almost take the dryer fully apart to do this. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the front vent on the side I wanted, had to use the one more to the rear because my model dryer had the motor in the way of the front vent. If you want to save money you could just buy an elbow, two pieces of 4-inch pipe and some hose clamps and cut the pipe to length instead of using the kit, but the kit makes it easier. Read More...
