This is a filter drier installed in the sealed refrigeration system that removes moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant as it circulates. It protects the compressor and other components from damage caused by moisture or debris in the refrigerant lines. Replace this filter drier if the refrigerator or ice machine is not cooling properly, the compressor is struggling, or during any sealed system repair where the refrigerant lines have been opened.
