Mike_B for Model Number SHU9952UC/12 A few days ago I noticed that my dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes. When I open the door during a wash, I can see that the bottom spray arm turns, the top arm does not. Both have water coming out, but the bottom arm water barely reaches the top rack, and the top wrm only sprays a couple of inches. There is plenty of water in the machine. I tried the same without the strainer (to make sure it is not a clogged strainer): no change. I opened the drain sump, and found a bit of debris there, which I removed, but it has not changed the issue. The impeller seems OK, and it turns easily, with slight hesitation at some points, as you would expect from an electric motor. I did have a little bit of an issue at some point in that the machine would not drain properly, but not recently. It seems to me that the pressure is low, which could be a bad impeller, or a bad drain pump, would you agree? Or could it be a bad impeller? How would I check?
Answer Mike, It would be more of a issue with the impeller than it would be with the drain pump. If the unit is not building enough pressure then it will cause this issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, June 27, 2016
