Joe D. for Model Number Bosh Dishwasher SHU66C05UC/14 FD841100135 I am looking to replace a circulation pump for a Bosch dishwasher model SHU66C05UC/10 FD8411. The lower arm does not spin and there is a loud buzzing noise. The water does pump in and it does drain out with no problem. I’m thinking it is the Circulation Pump, what do you think? I would like to know if there are instructions on how to replace the pump? Thank you, Joe
Answer Hello Joe, The first thing you need to do is pull the bottom rack and the screens in the bottom of the washtub. Now when you get the cup screen and the platter screen removed, you will need to use a wet vac to suck the water out so you can see what you're doing. When this is done, look in the bottom of the opening under the screen locations and you should see a small torx headed screw. This will either be a T-10 or a T-15. The screw is stainless which means it is non-magnetic. When it gets to the top of the threads, you can use your needle nosed pliers to pull it out. When the screw is out, use your needle nosed pliers to pull the impeller cover out of the way. Now, the impeller will be in view. You need to turn it a bit using the end of a screwdriver. I always use a screwdriver to turn it in case a glass sliver is under it. Since the material in there is white, glass slivers are invisible, but still quite painful. When you ensure the impeller is free, use the wet vac again to remove anything that may be in there. I will normally hear the piece of glass go up through the wet vac hose. 90% of the time, the circulation pump will now operate normally without changing it. Read More...
