Bob for Model Number SHU2042UC/14 After many years, the pins / studs of the upper rack of our dish washer have broken. These pins have a 4 section split and fit into the roller shown in the picture associated with this part.I could not find our dishwasher # (above) listed in the search The part looks very similar to those pictured as (Part Number: AP3799123) The prongs on the pins (each pin / stud is split into 4 of them) are breaking off and no longer stay in the roller and subsequently slide out. This has resulted in catastrophes such as breaking over some of my LA Roller Derby beer pints. Do I need the pins and rollers or just the pins? If these are compatible, please let me know so I can order what I need. Save me from further calamities! Thank you.
Answer Bob, We have a dilemma, The closest model number we could find was a SMU2042 UC/14, in which case you have the correct part number for the rack roller kit 00424717 ( you may want to order two 2 kits). Once you remove the end cap from the rail, and roll the upper rack off/out of the track, it's pretty much easy off, easy on. Youi may want to have a small flat blade screwdriver to release the axle clip from the rack wrung, slip the roller onto the axle, until the four piece clip seats and expands to hold the roller on, slip the axle over the prong on the side of the rack and swing the clip up and onto the wrung.
