By: Bosch
Part Number: OEM17074455
Manufacturer Part Number: 00753257

The Spark Module is an OEM part Bosch ranges and cooktops. This electronic part generates the high-voltage spark needed to reliably ignite the gas burners with the push of a button.

Causes can be issues like component failure over the thousands of ignitions it facilitates. Water ingress could also potentially cause problems.

Symptoms of a bad spark module include:

  • Unreliable or intermittent burner ignition requiring multiple ignition button presses
  • One or more burners that will not ignite at all
  • Occasionally flashing or error codes relating to ignition issues

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Bob for Model Number PRG486GDH

My Thermador 48" Harmony Pro Range work up at night and started sparking the left front and back burners, only, with all switches turned off. These are both XLO burners and the only XLO burners. A repair technician said it was the Spark Module. Was he correct and I should use #00753257 to solve the problem? Or, should I look at the switches and other parts? Thermador told me to wait until 1/1/2026 - 5 years - to get a spark module from them to fix it! I am too hungry to wait that long.

Answer

Hello Bob, likely it is a spark module problem if the stove uses 00753257 00753257 spark module as this spark module (6 burner output) should be sending the spark to all the cooktop burners at the same time when any or all burners are turned on. Since it is sending the spark only to the XLO burners (with no gas flow to the burners) that would indicate a problem with the spark module. However the parts list shows that each of the cooktop burners uses a separate spark module [00619017] for each cooktop burner. If that is the case then the simmer control board 00619016 00619016 would likely be at fault.
