By: Bosch
Part Number: OEM17074455
Manufacturer Part Number: 00753257

The Spark Module is an OEM part Bosch ranges and cooktops. This electronic part generates the high-voltage spark needed to reliably ignite the gas burners with the push of a button.

Causes can be issues like component failure over the thousands of ignitions it facilitates. Water ingress could also potentially cause problems.

Symptoms of a bad spark module include:

  • Unreliable or intermittent burner ignition requiring multiple ignition button presses
  • One or more burners that will not ignite at all
  • Occasionally flashing or error codes relating to ignition issues

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Eb5 for Model Number RDSS30QB

This is a follow up to our prior Q&A (pasted below)...I went ahead and replaced the spark module with the correct one from your store. All 4 gas burners now light (good news) but as soon as I flipped the power back on, all 4 burners started to continuously spark (even without turning any knobs and even after I tested and lit each burner--they won't stop sparking). Is this an issue with the new module or is something else going on? Please help/advise how to figure this out--I am not electrically savvy but determined to win this battle! Thank you. Prior question you answered--Over time, Thermador gas range no longer sparking any of 4 burners. Replaced all 4 igniters and 2 ignition switches. Now getting sparks on 3 of 4, but not strong enough to light the gas. The connectors on the wires attaching to the bottom of the igniters show varying degrees of corrosion/browning inside, whereas the connectors at the spark module end look fine. Might I just need to replace the 4 wires and not the module to get a stronger spark to the igniters? If so, where can I purchase just the wires with the correct connectors--I have not been able to find them on the site? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!

Answer

EB5, the spark module would need to receive voltage from a valve switch being turned to the on position. Testing each switch for continuity when they are in the off position will allow the identification of which switch has failed.
