David Kyle for Model Number Bosch B20CS50SNS/02 The Ice Maker empties the tray completely but then over fills with water; not by a lot but enough to spill over. As a result the ice then comes out as a single block and pooled water freezes up in the ice basket locking up the dispenser. Obviously this was not the case in the first 8 years of operation. I have replaced the Ice Maker with one I purchased from you but the problem persists. What might be the cause? I can find no documented adjustment to limit the water fill other than perhaps the valve at the wall. To my knowledge my water pressure has not changed. I don't think there is anything wrong with the refrigerator's water valves as you can hear them actuate sharply when the ice maker water dispenses and shuts off. It is a long shot but could the brand of water filters be responsible? I changed from a 3M CS-52 Refrigerator Water Filter to a Bosch 640565 Premium Refrigerator Water & Ice Filter. Is it possible the Bosch filter is freer flowing than the 3M filter resulting in overfilling? I am not certain the problem was coincident but it is the only change I can think of.
Answer David, It will not be likely that the filter will have anything to do with this issue. This will most likely be caused by a water valve that is not fully closing when the valve shuts off and would need a new valve. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, February 13, 2018
