Questions & Answers

For Bosch Ice Maker (Part Number: OEM13304208)

1 Answer

Brad, The part number for the icemaker on this model will be part number 00649288. It appears that there are 2 screws at the front that hold it in place then you can slide it out and install the new icemaker.

Alfredo, This issue sounds like the water valve on the unit would be causing this issue.

David Kyle for Model Number Bosch B20CS50SNS/02

The Ice Maker empties the tray completely but then over fills with water; not by a lot but enough to spill over. As a result the ice then comes out as a single block and pooled water freezes up in the ice basket locking up the dispenser. Obviously this was not the case in the first 8 years of operation. I have replaced the Ice Maker with one I purchased from you but the problem persists. What might be the cause? I can find no documented adjustment to limit the water fill other than perhaps the valve at the wall. To my knowledge my water pressure has not changed. I don't think there is anything wrong with the refrigerator's water valves as you can hear them actuate sharply when the ice maker water dispenses and shuts off. It is a long shot but could the brand of water filters be responsible? I changed from a 3M CS-52 Refrigerator Water Filter to a Bosch 640565 Premium Refrigerator Water & Ice Filter. Is it possible the Bosch filter is freer flowing than the 3M filter resulting in overfilling? I am not certain the problem was coincident but it is the only change I can think of.

1 Answer

David, It will not be likely that the filter will have anything to do with this issue. This will most likely be caused by a water valve that is not fully closing when the valve shuts off and would need a new valve.

Hello Joe, The icemaker you were viewing has no heater but is a flex tray type icemaker. I'm sorry but there are individual parts available from the manufacturer for this design icemaker so it has to be replaced as an assembly. For a more detailed diagnosis, you can post a new question including the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Marsha for Model Number Bosch B20CS50SNS/01 icemaker

Our ice maker, front display panel, compressor, lights were malfunctioning and we were told that replacement of the central control panel would likely fix all problems. The central control panel was replaced. Everything is back to normal except the ice maker. The ice maker's top ice cube making tray is filled with ice and turns to release its ice but the ice cubes don't release from the tray. The tray returns to get refilled with water but the water spills over the sides of the ice filled tray, down the ice chute in the French door and eventually onto the floor. If the central control panel doesn't fix this problem and if we have to buy a new ice maker, can we remove and replace the ice maker ourselves? Also, do you offer a warranty on this part? Thanks for your help!

1 Answer

Marsha, If the ice is not releasing then would be an issue with the icemaker and would need to replace the icemaker in which you can replace without service.
