Jerry for Model Number HGS7052UC/06 From reading previous questions and answers it looks like I would use part# 00492429 to replace the igniter in my Bosch oven broiler, is that correct? I also would like to know how to access the igniter and if I need to pull out the oven from the wall to get to the igniter wires? Thank you.
Answer Jerry, the part number for the broil ignitor is [00492429] and you should be able to change it out from the front. The ignitor should be mounted directly to the burner and has two screws holding it onto the burner. There is also a plate that the ignitor wiring passes through that is held on by two screws. You will need to remove the plate and the screws mounting the ignitor. You should then be able to gently pull the connector out through the front unless it gets caught on something. If it does get caught on something and does not easily come out, then you may want to pull the entire unit out to change the connector to prevent damage to the wiring harness. Read More...
