From there, with the flame off, the cap would need to be removed using tongs and placed on a grate. A cold, damp washcloth can be used on the venturi to cause the venturi to retract while the holder remains warm, this will allow the venturi to be removed. If the venturi will not come out using this procedure, the venturi and jet holder may need to be replaced as the venturi may need to be cut out.
